The Children’s Program Room, located at the Crown Point Library, has been renamed to the Sharon Greening Children’s Program Room. Sharon was a beloved mother, spouse, grandmother, educator, and friend. As an avid, respected teacher and lover of all kids and animals, Sharon inspired countless students to achieve their dreams, overcome obstacles in their young lives, and attain a lifelong love for books and reading. The memorial gift of $10,000 donated by the Birdzell family, in her memory, will be used to perpetuate Sharon’s devotion and dedication to early reading programs for all children and continue to impact the lives of the children of the community.
Please join us for the dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony to honor the memory of Sharon Greening and celebrate this donation on Saturday, April 6 at 11 a.m. at the Crown Point Community Library.

Kids become lifelong readers for all kinds of reasons. Sometimes there’s one book that captures their imagination and opens him or her up to the exciting world of fiction. Other times, a teacher who assigns great books in class and in some cases, the parent influences the appreciation of books by sharing their own love of literature and modeling reader behavior by always having a book to read, taking books on vacation, reading before bedtime or regularly visiting the library!
Do you have a reluctant reader? Engage with ebooks! The electronic format has proved to be especially engaging for reluctant readers, and you can download or access many books on an ereader or tablet, which make it a great choice for travel, and car rides. Check out the library’s collection of ebooks on RBdigital!
