One State – One Story
Indiana Humanities and the Crown Point Library
are thrilled to present
Crown Point Community Library received a grant from Indiana Humanities to participate in the statewide One State/One Story Community Read of “All That She Carried: The Journey of Ashley’s Sack, a Black Family Keepsake” by Tiya Miles.
One State / One Story program is part of Indiana Humanities’ Advancing Racial Equity project, which supports discussions of history and memory and how engaging with our past can help us understand contemporary injustices and strive for racial equity.
In September, the library will host five programs, including a community book discussion, about this poignant story of resilience and what light a piece of art can shed on our history. Copies of the book are available to check out at the Crown Point location. The audiobook is also available on Libby through the Indiana Digital Library.
