Free Parenting Workshops

Posted by lclemons on

The Crown Point Library and Lakeshore Public Television (PBS) will be partnering to present two workshops that provide parents and/or caregivers of children aged 2-8 with the content and tools to incorporate learning at home.  The workshops are intended for parents and caregivers only. These workshops are free, but registration is required. Workshops are held at the Crown Point Library, Meeting Rooms.

Workshop#1

Pizza party on Saturday, January 16 at 10:00 a.m.

January is a cold month but frigid weather is a great reason to get that oven on and bake something delicious with your child. The main objective is to reinforce mathematical skills through the use of cooking a delicious pizza. This lesson will is also a great way to introduce new vocabulary and a delicious outcome!

Workshop #2

Home Sweet Home on Saturday, February 20 at 10:00 a.m.

We are all part of a family. Our families are all different: some deal with divorce, adoption, remarriage, ethnic diversity, grandparents as primary caregivers, single parents, autism, foster care, etc. In this workshop, caregivers learn how to share with children that there are different kinds of families and no one structure is better than another. All types of families love and care for each other.
