we are going to be hosting two
music trivia contests where you can
show off what you know. The first trivia
contest held in June will feature
questions about bands and musicians
from the 50’s-80’s. July’s edition will
have questions about bands from the
80’s to today.

Rock Painting Party

Crown Point rocks will join the
library in hosting an all-ages rock
painting party. The party will be a
drop-in party so you may come and
go at any time during the program
and paint a rock to share in our
No registration is required and all
supplies will be provided. Open to all
ages and abilities!
Participants are encouraged to
place their rock in the community
and watch for it to appear on the
Crown Point Rocks Facebook page
when the finder shares the rock.
American Architecture 101 –
Presented by Brad Miller, the Director of the Northwest Field Office of indiana Landmarks
Curious about the types of buildings in your neighborhood? Have you stopped to admire the details of an
old building or ever consider architecture as a form of art that lines the streets in your historic neighborhood?
Learn about the evolution of architecture and the many styles that made their way to northwest indiana from early logs homes and brick mansions, to modern steel structures. The conversation will be sure to heighten your curiosities before your next walk around town!
Author Visit: Charlie Donlea
June 23 at 2 p.m.
Chicago-area writer, Charlie Donlea will visit the library to talk about his writing process and his
latest book, Don’t Believe It, that will be published on May 29, 2018. his first book, Summit
Lake, was published in 2016 and was soon followed by The Girl Who Was Taken, published in
April of 2017.
Donela will have copies of both of his books for sale and will sign copies before and after his

Historical Homes of Crown Point
Tour with Molly the trolley
Explore historic Crown Point homes while riding Molly the Trolley. The tour is presented by Jeanene Letcher, CPCL’s Reference Department and indiana Room Specialist. Maps for a self-guided tour will be available in the 1st floor lobby. Registration is required due to limited seating on the trolley. This tour is designed for adults only.

June 29: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
July 17: 6 – 8 p.m.
July 20: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

There will be no rain dates. A slideshow presentation, in the Library’s meeting rooms, will take place of the tour.
